The Memphis Grizzlies have tied the series in a game four overtime thriller. Still high off their first win of the series in game three at home Memphis was able to outlast the Spurs led by MVP hopeful Kawhi Leonard, in regulation and overtime who seemingly took the life out of the FedEX Forum. Leonard fueled run after run that made it appear that the Spurs had the game in the books whenever the Grizzlies found success.
Luckily for Memphis they withstood the onslaught and punched back where it seemed like the basket was 10-feet wide. The success on the field would last through the third capping the quarter with a three from JaMychal Green to cut the Spurs lead to three.
Leonard did his best to put the team on his back even going on an 11-point run in the fourth but it wasn’t enough to close out the game . The Grizzlies were able to outlast the Spurs on the shoulders of Mike Conley Jr. who hit clutch shot after shot. His tremednous playmaking ability had him score the shot that forced overtime. He was also key in his final assist which led to Marc Gasol’s shot and the kind bounce and seal the win for the home team .
Despite forcing the Grizzlies to 23 turnovers opposed to the 10 the Spurs committed they still struggled to slow down the Memphis shooting. The Grizzlies would shoot a game high 46.3-percent from the field (44-percent from three). The Spurs also struggled on the glass as they were out rebounded 58-44.
