Today, the NBA announced the schedule for the opening week and Christmas Day. The season will debut on October 17th as the NBA attempts to start earlier and reduce a rigorous schedule. The defending champs, Golden State Warriors, will host the revamped Houston Rockets on October 17th. The banner reveal and ring commencement will be in front of James Harden and his new back court mate Chris Paul who will have some motivation to challenge the Warriors.
The defending Eastern Conference Champions, Cleveland Cavaliers, will have to open against the Boston Celtics who have added Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward to their roster this offseason.
The Philadephia 76ers are playing on Christmas Day for the first time in 16 years.
